AYPG Partners with The Square Foundation to Deliver New Learning Opportunities for Young Pharmacist in Asia

On November 19, 2025, in Bella Center, Copenhagen, Denmark, the Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) was officially signed by Anggun P. Wardhani, President of the Asian Young Pharmacists’ Group (AYPG), and Philip Harrison, Founder of The Square Foundation, during the FIP (International Pharmaceutical Federation) Congress.

This milestone marks the beginning of a powerful collaboration between AYPG and The Square Foundation, a non-profit organization renowned for its commitment to advancing pharmacy education through its e-learning platform, The Square Academy. The Academy offers clinical pharmacy modules, such as polypharmacy, pharmacoepidemiology, cardiovascular medicine, medicine use review, and chronic kidney disease, to help pharmacists continue their professional development Square foundation

For years, The Square Foundation has built deep expertise in supporting pharmacy education across sub-Saharan Africa, including in countries like Ethiopia, Malawi, Botswana, Zimbabwe, and Namibia. Now, through this new partnership, that wealth of experience will be channelled into the Asian region, where AYPG aims to strengthen the clinical and patient-care competencies of young pharmacists.

AYPG President Anggun expressed her gratitude and optimism about the partnership “I am grateful to partner with Philip and The Square Foundation. Their long experience in Africa region demonstrates a deep commitment to pharmacy education in challenging settings and together, we can bring that same impact to young pharmacists throughout Asia. This collaboration is not just about learning, it’s about empowering pharmacists to deliver better patient care.”

The MoU was signed during the FIP Congress, where Anggun herself attended thanks to funding support from The Square Foundation. This underscores both organizations’ shared belief in investing in emerging leaders.

Looking Ahead: A New Learning Pathway for Young Pharmacists in Asia

Under this partnership, AYPG and The Square Foundation will focus on three major areas:

1. Access to Clinical Pharmacy e-Learning Modules for Young Pharmacists in Asia

Young pharmacists in Asia will soon gain access to a curated selection of clinical pharmacy modules from The Square Foundation’s learning platform, The Square Academy. These modules cover a wide range of topics relevant to modern pharmacy practice, helping young professionals strengthen their competencies regardless of their location or resources.

2. Free Access to Selected e-Learning Modules

To encourage broader participation and reduce barriers to professional development, several modules will be made available free of charge for AYPG members and young pharmacists across Asia. As per today, this free module can be immediately accessed by sign up in the Square Foundation e-learning platform, The Square Academy.

3. CPD Accreditation in Member Countries

AYPG will collaborate closely with its member associations in each country to help pursue Continuing Professional Development (CPD) accreditation for these learning modules. This effort aims to ensure that young pharmacists can not only learn, but also receive official recognition for their professional development activities according to their national pharmacy regulatory standards. The details of countries that will get the equivalent CPD accreditation or how to claim CPD in each countries will soon be announced.

4. A Joint Award for Outstanding Young Pharmacists in Asia

AYPG and The Square Foundation will introduce an award program to recognize promising young pharmacists. The award aims to inspire excellence and provide visibility to young pharmacists in Asia.

The collaboration between AYPG & The Square Foundation marks the beginning of a shared mission to ensure that young pharmacists in Asia have greater access to high-quality education, new opportunities, and recognition for their achievements.
