The Asian Young Pharmacist Group (AYPG) proudly joined the International Pharmaceutical Federation (FIP) in promoting the global #ThinkHealthThinkPharmacist campaign in celebration of the World Pharmacist Day 2025 last September 25, 2025.

This year, AYPG launched a meaningful initiative – a street interview campaign project that captured the public voices and perceptions about Pharmacists across the Asia Pacific Region with different cultures and pharmacy practices. Through this platform, AYPG aimed to step out in the conventional and hear from casual people beyond the professional circles about what they think when they hear the word “pharmacist”, and listen to how people truly see the role of a Pharmacist in the society. This AYPG’s initiative seeks to inspire reflection among young pharmacists and emphasizes the real value of the pharmacy profession in the community.

By understanding different public perspectives, we not only strengthen and ignite our real connection with the people we serve but also we reaffirm our professional identity as pharmacists who contribute to better medication therapy and health outcomes everyday.

In line with the International Pharmaceutical Federation’s (FIP) global #ThinkHealthThinkPharmacy campaign for World Pharmacists Day 2025, the Asian Young Pharmacist Group (AYPG) joins the call to promote the vital role of pharmacists in improving public health. The campaign centers on six key messages that highlight the profession’s identity, accessibility, and continued contribution to health systems:

  1. Pharmacists are healthcare professionals.

Pharmacists are an essential part of the healthcare team who ensure the safe and effective use of medicines and support patients in managing their overall health and wellbeing.

  1. Pharmacists are the most accessible primary health care providers.
Pharmacists are the most approachable healthcare professionals, with pharmacies open daily and easily accessible without appointments. They serve as key sources of health advice, early intervention, and reliable guidance on medications and their therapeutic equivalents.
  2. Pharmacists provide a wide array of health services.
Beyond dispensing medicines, pharmacists offer vaccinations, health screenings, and disease management services that improve patient outcomes.
  3. There is high public trust in pharmacists.
Consistently ranked among the most trusted professionals, pharmacists build confidence through integrity, competence, and compassion.
  4. The Pharmacy profession proved its value during the COVID-19 pandemic and continues to do so.
Pharmacists played a crucial role in maintaining supply demand of medicines, providing vaccinations, and guiding communities throughout the pandemic — demonstrating their enduring value to health systems. Even beyond the pandemic, pharmacists remain at the forefront of improving access to healthcare and promoting resilience in health systems.
  5. Some governments have expanded pharmacy services — others should too.
Recognizing the vital contribution of pharmacists, many governments have implemented policies to expand their roles — from prescribing medications to leading vaccination and public health programs. Continued support and policy reform will help strengthen healthcare access for all.

Through this street interview campaign project, AYPG aims to bridge the gap between how pharmacists see themselves and how the public sees us. By truly listening to people’s perceptions, we can better understand how to strengthen our professional identity and advocate for the pharmacy profession and its greater contribution to the healthcare setting. Alongside this initiative, the AYPG also conducted a World Pharmacist Day 2025 DP blast through a Twibbon campaign. This activity encouraged pharmacists and supporters to use the motto from the FIP, “Think Health, Think Pharmacist” frame to proudly represent the profession online, raise awareness, and highlight the vital role of pharmacists in advancing public health.

By amplifying public voices through this campaign, we reaffirm a shared belief: When we think of health, we must also think of pharmacists. Together, let’s continue reminding the world to #Think HealthThinkPharmacists. #WorldPharmacistsDay2025 #AYPG #ThinkHealthThinkPharmacy.
